Windows users will be required to install a patch from Microsoft’s website as per your OS version. Simply go to the website select your version either from Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 and install it. It should be noted that this software is not compatible with the Windows 8.0 version therefore considering updating your system to 8.1 first. Once the patch is successfully installed just reboot your computer and your computer will stop downloading Windows 10 updates.
Second Way
Herein users will be required to access their registry editor through clicking on the Start Menu or simply pressing WIN+R, then type regedit. Soon a registry editor window will pop-up on the screen, now navigate to this following key.

Once you locate the WindowsUpdate option on the left hand side of the box, give a single click to it. Create a new 32 bit DWORD called DisableOSUpgrade on the right hand of the window and simply give it a value of 1.
